This Dark Step Black frame is has a stepped surface, smooth finish measuring 13mm wide and 21mm deep. Sizes up to 10" by 12" have strut backs so you can place on a table as well as hang on the wall.

Our Dark Step Black is a smooth, stylish stepped wooden frame allowing the image to sit deeper in the frame. This slim profile is exclusive to us and reflects the trend for narrow framing and has additional interest with a linear step. This contemporary style is perfect for framing photography, particularly black and white, paintings and prints. Dark step black falls into our entry price A band, we have three other black options in this range, one black outer with a silver step, one black outer with a gold coloured inner and the final one has a black top edge with a white step and a white outer edge.
Black features in many of our ranges as it is one of our most popular colours and there are many options, to see them all search by colour, there are different widths, depths, textures and finishes. This frame is substantial enough for larger frames up to 20"x16" 400x500mm and A3.
The image can be further complimented by adding one of our conservation quality mounts that are available in two depths, as double mounts and in a wide range of colours. Our mounts are also available in a multi aperture format enabling the grouping of several images within one frame. This look can also be achieved by pulling together a range of frames and images on a wall in a gallery display.
We use high quality float glass, the alternative option of shatterproof styrene, a substantial hardboard with the attribute of being able to hang on the wall either in landscape or portrait. Smaller sizes have strut backs enabling them to be stood on a table or mantelpiece. For protection each frame has cardboard corners and is shrink wrapped to keep clean and dust free.
